Stationary for the WedVibes editorial at Château Challain. When classic French architecture meets the innovation of contemporary design, the result is a visual narrative that defies time. Recently Cuddles Rita Catita had the privilege of participating in an exclusive editorial for WedVibes, based in the majestic Château de Challain, in France.

For this project, we didn't just create invitations, we designed heirloom pieces that translate the soul of a castle into tangible elements made of paper, acrylic and stone.

The Creative Process: Inspired by Neo-Gothic Architecture

Setting trends requires the ability to look at a historical monument and extract its essence from it. The Château de Challain, known as the “Petit Chambord”, served as the muse for our entire stationery line. Our aim was clear: to transport the grandeur of the towers and the delicacy of the chateau's ornaments into the hands of our guests.

The choice of crystal acrylic for the main invitation was a strategic decision to break with tradition. By engraving the detailed illustration of the castle façade directly onto the acrylic, we created a depth effect that mimics the view through the Château's windows. This piece functions as an editorial art object, where the modernity of the material merges with the history of hand-drawn illustration.

The Architectural Envelope and the Curation of Details

The envelope is not just protection, but the frame for the work. We developed an envelope that complements the transparency of the acrylic, using graphic elements that recall the gardens and the neo-Gothic structure of the site. Each wax seal and lining was designed to make the unboxing of this invitation an immediate trip to France.

Tactile Innovation: The Stone table marker

In Cuddles Rita Catita, We believe that innovation lies in exploring unexpected media. For this editorial, we went beyond paper.

Stone as a Stationary Element

Inspired by the centuries-old walls and sculptures that adorn the castle, we created stone table markers. Laser engraving allowed us to transpose the ornamental details of the Château onto the cold, eternal surface of the stone, creating a fascinating contrast with the softness of the flowers and fabrics on the table.
